did i ever tell you...

about the time I was a model?

In a lucky turn of events, my photographer invited me to be part of a bridal shoot. It wasn't your typical trash the dress shoot, although I had some kind of weird tar substance all over my dress afterwards. Dean wanted to do something different- less Brides magazine, more Vanity Fair. The participants, all recently or soon to be married clients of Thorsen Photography, were just happy to put their dresses on again and get dolled up.

Getting ready at the fabulous studio of Amanda Hein Photography. Amanda was on the other side of the camera for the shoot. Amanda is a very talented photographer and I had so much fun with her that day! Sonia Roselli's team was on hand for make-up.

Here are some of my favorites.

It was crazy running around Chicago en bridal masse. People didn't know what to make of us. Was it some kind of wierd group marriage? I think my favorite part was our trip to Binny's. We were all needing a little liquid courage, and so, in full hair/make-up/bridal gowns, we headed into the liquor store. It was classy. Then they asked us for ID.

More here. All photos by Thorsen Photography.

  1. Looks like you had a good time, how fun!

  2. LOVE this shoot!
I want to get some of my recent brides together and do something similar. Hey...isn't imitation the most sincere form of flattery?!

  3. A group marriage? Too funny! You are gorgeous of course. I love the photo of all of you walking towards the camera. Very Vanity Fair/annie leibovitz indeed.

  4. wow! you look stunning natalie! this looks like SO much fun for you brides AND the photographer! how cool to be part of it?!

  5. We did have a fabulous time- and I still can't get over the collective powers of professional hair, make-up and photography. Magic, I tell you.
